Supporting the development of automotive systems

The automotive industry relies on numerical simulation at every stage of vehicle development, from component design to validation. It makes it possible to assess performance, optimize designs, and reduce the number of physical prototypes.

SIMTEC works on various automotive subsystems to support R&D teams in analyzing and improving their products.

Study of structures and mechanical components

Our work notably covers:

  • the modeling of the various body subassemblies, with static and dynamic analyses;
  • the 3D modeling of mechanical components, such as:
    • engine pistons;
    • steering columns;
    • braking systems;
    • suspension systems.

These studies make it possible to assess the mechanical behavior of components under their operating conditions and support design decisions.

Optimization of flows

Simulation is also used to improve the performance of certain hydraulic or pneumatic components.

SIMTEC has notably worked on the optimization of flows within safety valves, in order to improve their operation and performance.

Meeting the challenges of tomorrow’s mobility

The automotive sector faces numerous challenges: weight reduction, improved reliability, control of mechanical performance, and system optimization.

Numerical simulation makes it possible to quickly assess different design solutions and guide technical choices before prototypes are produced.

Each automotive project presents specific constraints. Numerical simulation helps inform design choices from the earliest stages of development.
